What Makes a Great Tweetup?

We’re looking to host a tweetup sometime later this summer, and we want to get your feedback about what you look for in a great tweetup. What makes you WANT to attend? What makes a tweetup fun for YOU? Answer the poll, and if you have any other thoughts or ideas, drop them in the comments, or contact us. We want to host the best tweetup of the year!

    * Never never ever use the word “elite” in the tweetup description
    * Free alcohol
    * Not downtown
    * Starts after 7PM. After 9PM is even better
    * Don't have it in a loud bar where you have to scream to be heard
    * Fast wifi
    * Deploy a Brightkite wall if possible, or if there's a projector and internet connection, a self-updating twitterwall
    * No panels, guest lectures, or “presentations” by “social media experts”
    * Nametags
    * Strippers
    * (that last one was a joke)

    * Reserve space or use a normally empty-ish location
    * Lots of advanced notice
    * Host(s) who mingle, interact and make introductions
    * Flickr pool
    * Don't assume that every attendee has an iphone
