Ever heard of Kuma’s? If not, you have now. Kuma’s is a local institution when it comes to burgers. Awesome, huge, unique burgers. My good friend Theresa from The Local Tourist is hosting a lunch meetup this Thursday at the famed burger joint that was featured on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. Here’s the deets:

Mark Smithivas is hosting a mobile tweetup on Saturday, March 28. What’s a mobile tweetup? In his words,

“Basically on that date, you follow me using one or more of the methods below. I’ll end up at a secret location by a certain time and if you meet me there, we can all have a drink and good time together!”

Mark suggests using Google Latitude, Brightkite and Twitter to follow him to the final destination, meeting around 7pm.

Chicago Product Show and Tell

If you can’t make it to the SMC meeting, pop in at Chicago’s first product show and tell event. Essentially, attendees are encouraged to bring different products that they are passionate about, and share that with the group. Best described in their own twitter feed:

product meetup will give people a venue not to talk about just the products they make and produce, but also produce….

the goal is to increase velocity in which these products get discovered as they are unlikely to be advertised traditionally…

in other words, why eat plain old hershey’s when there is tcho, or 5 years ago why use chapstick when there is burt’s bees..

Many folks couldn’t get into the CIMA party because of a tech snafu. Some research was done to plan a little get together for folks that couldn’t get in to the CIMA fest or that just feel like coming over and hanging out at a fantastic downtown spot.
